You might have a picnic down by the Horokiri stream that runs through the property or sit and enjoy the seaviews on the garden benches. By night, take a star-lit stroll through the deserted aisles of the Nursery finishing off with a relaxing soak in our unique Canadian cedar hot tub... a truly unforgettable experience!

We love living in Pauatahanui "where town meets country" where we enjoy a rural setting, but are just minutes from the city, beaches, golf courses, walkways, and much, much more. So if you're looking for somewhere quiet yet close to the city, a place to stay that has character yet quality chattels with a relaxed, romantic, country-comfortable feel about it, then the Leacroft Guest House will most definitely suit you.

There are so many things to experience while you are visiting our region. We would be happy to recommend and offer you suggestions. There will be a full detailed range of brochures and information to browse through after you have settled into the Guest House. We are happy to answer any queries as they arise.

Wellington, Porirua, the Hutt Valley, and the Kapiti Coast are all within 25 minutes drive from Leacroft Guest House, making us a great base from which to explore our diverse region. And, with Pauatahanui virtually at our door step, there is much to see and do within just 5-10 minutes drive including two golf courses, cinemas, cafe and restaurant. Pauatahanui Lighthouse Cinemas offers an exquisite film experience - comfort and sophistication that transcends the multiplex. From their fully licensed cafe bar where a fine selection of beer and wine is available, to  the very comfortable couch seats and cushions, this makes for a memorable evening out.

Pamper yourself and relax at the Lavender Room - a boutique salon in Pauatahanui run by Stephanie Manning, a beauty therapist with over fifteen years experience offering a range of treatments and selling Pier Auge and Jessica products.

Duck Creek Restaurant is getting a great name for itself with fabulous food, wine and vista. Treat yourself to a fantastic culinary experience at reasonable prices.

Visit the Ground Up Cafe for the best coffee around and very popular for brunch with generous portions and buzzing atmosphere.

If it's icecream you're after, our Pauatahanui Dairy/General Store will satisfy all tastes.

Even our local Challenge petrol station offers a customer service experience that is far and few between these days... serving up your petrol with a smile every time.

Pauatahanui Inlet is the largest in the lower North Island and the most extensive relatively unmodified estuarine area in the southern part of the North Island. The area around the inlet has been inhabited for at least the last 600 years and is rich with wāhi tapu, archaeological sites, and historic places.

Camborne Walkway is a wonderful scenic walk along the Pauatahanui Inlet off Grays Road. See the boatsheds where the iconic poet Sam Hunt was inspired to produce his most famous works. The boatsheds have also been an inspiration for many local artists.

Battlehill is also only a few minutes drive where you will enjoy 500 hectares of a mix of flat, rolling and steeper hill country - a haven for walking, horse riding, mountain biking, camping and picnics with its farm setting, native bush reserve and panoramic views.

Pauatahanui Golf Course is a few minutes drive further up Paekakariki Hill Road from our Leacroft Guest House. Whether you are a new or seasoned golfer - you will enjoy this rural and very pleasant course. Also, towards the Hutt Valley further along SH58, is Judgeford Golf Coursewhere you will find an interesting and challenging 18 hole course for golfers of all ages and abilities.

St. Albans Church is located at the entrance to Pauatahanui and is gorgeous to behold. Grab a coffee and have a little walk up the driveway to enjoy a closer look at the gorgeous collection of old fashioned roses tended by volunteers.
